The Success Checklist

What is success? I think it is a mixture of having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose.” — Margaret Thatcher

You may be surprised to learn that successful and unsuccessful people have many things in common. The difference is that successful people are willing to go the extra mile and do things that unsuccessful people refuse to do.

Take any two successful people – they don’t even need to be from the same walk of life, the same business field or have anything else in common except the fact that they are successful.  But take a deeper look… you will see character traits that line up.

The following is a checklist of what Successful people do. Print it out and grab a pen and get ready to learn about yourself.

Successful People:

-       Get up earlier and visualize the day ahead

-       Work over-time, when necessary

-       Take responsibility instead of blaming others

-       Make decisions proactively before problems occur

-       Begin new projects or relationships with an end in mind

-       Prioritize based on importance, not urgency

-       Strive for Win-Win situations

-       Seek to understand through empathy, before needing to be    understood

-       Find opportunities where others see nothing and lessons where others see problems

-       Love the synergistic effects of positive teamwork

-       Balance energy, resources, health, and talents

-       Focus on solutions

-       Rarely, if ever, complain and see the glass as half-full

-       Surround themselves with likeminded people

-       Don’t procrastinate

-       Are not superstitious about “bad luck” but rather, create their           own destinies

-       Manage their emotions

-       Consciously try to communicate better

-       Have identified core moral values and work to uphold these        characteristics daily

-       Understand the benefits of hard work and the satisfaction of a         job well done

-       Have a secure sense of self-worth

-       Embrace change and are very adaptable

-       Act upon feedback

-       Do not rationalize failure or make excuses

-       Practice what they preach

-       Finish what they start

-       Set higher standards for themselves

Are you doing some or all of these things? Start living the successful life you were meant to lead today by charting a new course. Success is closer than you think!

Best,
