Before: Fogginess. Inability to focus. Lethargy. After: "I’ve never before felt my brain relax like this. What did you do?” Ooh …Voodoo
Being a kinesthetic intuitive means when I put my hands on people I ‘feel’ their stories. With this client I had immediately felt a sharp constriction behind my eyes. Ouch! Wicked headache. Along with that came a feeling of over-whelming responsibility, isolation and sadness. We talked about perceptions of pain and pleasure, loss and gain, and what I call ‘reasonable responsibility’. My objective is to ask the questions that challenge what seems real, in order to illuminate a greater picture: one that makes sense, empowers and liberates. His reward: "brain relaxation". Relief.
Your body reflects your mind. You can do all the physical therapies around but unless there is a shift in your consciousness no real transformation takes place. The challenge for anyone on a healing path is that most technicians do not have a clue how to get beyond the conventional paradigm – the very real-feeling belief that events are either ‘good’ or ‘bad’, ‘painful’ or ‘pleasurable’. They cannot help you collapse the space-time continuum in order to elevate your perception to that of your timeless, space-less, higher self, and unleash the tidal wave of transforming energy that lies dormant in you.
When I was fourteen I read Carl Jung’s autobiography. I was inspired by his idea that ‘we cannot affect true healing until we reach the soul.’ That started an exploration into the art and science of healing that has lasted thirty years.
Combining Plato’s definition of the soul as: the point of separation between the individual and the collective, with John Demartini’s understanding of the soul as the ‘Spirit Of Unconditional Love’ here’s how I have come to make sense of Jung’s directive: We affect true healing when we have done whatever it takes to feel the Spirit Of Unconditional Love for anything and everything that we perceive as being separate from ourselves (ie the tumor, the cheating spouse, the boss who fired you ….).
This is not an easy undertaking. It demands being willing to transcend what Carlos Castenada referred to as ‘ordinary thinking’. This typically requires a skillful teacher who asks extra ordinary questions, and can hold the space for you until your inner wisdom suddenly comes crashing through.
What I know for sure is that in the moment of grace that accompanies the sudden apprehension of the Hidden Order in what felt like disorder … magic happens.
Divine, groovy voodoo.
